Apparently, an AI PC has a chip that’s “better at AI tasks.”
But here’s the truth:

• You can already run ChatGPT on a 10-year-old laptop.

• You can already blur your background on Zoom.

• You can already use AI tools in your browser – no special hardware needed.

So what’s actually different? Not much. Just the label and an AI key on the keyboard.

I Use AI Every Day – No “AI PC” Needed

I use AI tools daily in my business – writing, transcribing, image generation, you name it.
My laptop isn’t labelled as “AI-ready.” It just works.
Most of the clever stuff happens online anyway – not on your computer.

If you’ve got a decent machine already, you’re likely good to go.

My Real Problem? Lazy IT Providers

It’s not just the manufacturers pushing this gimmick – some IT providers are worse.
They’ve jumped on the “AI PC” bandwagon because it’s:

• An easy social media post without doing any real thinking “Uhh look at this new AI PC!”

• A fast way to sell

No questions asked. No assessment of what you actually do.
Just: “Oooh AI – let’s sell them a new machine.”

This is old thinking.
Push hardware. Sell products. Move on.
